The holiday season is approaching quickly and it will be here before you know it! Is your business prepared? Are your holiday communications clear and concise? Do your customers know how and when to buy from you to avoid disappointment?
Hopefully you answered ‘yes’ to these three questions.
Ensure it is clear to your customers how they can buy from you to avoid the chance of them going to a competitor instead. Keep in touch with your delivery partner(s) to make sure they are not experiencing delays. You should then update your communications accordingly, to ensure they are accurate.
Important information to include in your messaging is as follows:
· Specific instructions of how to place an order
· Order deadlines – to ensure packages arrive before Christmas
· If there is a minimum dollar value to qualify for free shipping OR a minimum order
· Is curbside pick-up available?
· What is the turnaround time once an order is placed?
Helpful communications tip: With the holidays approaching, it is also important let your customers know about service disruptions, temporary closures and/or if you are ‘out of office’. Some suggested ways to do this are: 1) update your voicemail; 2) post a notice on your social media accounts; 3) send a note to your email list; 4) update your website
During this time of year, many craft makers and artisans participate in Christmas markets and craft shows to sell their products. Many of them rely on these opportunities for income. When buying gifts for family and friends (or even yourself) this holiday season, if you are able, please buy from a small, local business.
